The last couple of weeks have gone by really fast. It's been busy with HS meets, Jeremy and my meets and a lot of work. The young guys have just about finished up with all there meets and getting ready for the summer meets. Jeremy and I have one more meet a piece before we get to the summer grand prix circut.
I have really been concentrating on my progression through this year and looking forward to jumping high in the summer. Practices and meets have been getting better with technique and bigger poles. My run has got more comfortable and my ability to plant big poles has come around as a result. In the last couple of weeks, I have been jumping at big bars (5.35m). I am finally getting back to the form from a couple of years ago. I really think that all of this is a result to having a partner to train with. Jeremy and I work really well together and get things done when we are vaulting. We should both put up some big bars this summer.
I finshed up the spring next week with a meet at Abilene Christian University. There is a lot of tradition and big winds down there. Hopefully, all will work out and I will be writing you next week with a big bar under my belt going into the summer. Most of the meets we have been to have had bad weather with winds and cold. It makes it difficult to rise to the level you want to during the spring. Jeremy will finish up next weekend at Emporia State. He has a tight hammy right now, so be thinking positive for him.
Hope to see everyone on the circut this summer. Let us know how you are jumping and good luck!
