Update

Over the last couple of weeks, my training has really intesified. I have been focused on bettering technical issues that will result in more consistantly higher jumps. I've jumped around from 3 steps to 12 steps testing these ideas during training sessions. I feel confident about the new situation I'm in and it will show in the coming competitions this year.

Outside of vaulting, the family is doing really well. Louis is enjoying his gymnastics class and will soon register for school in the coming months. He will be starting soccer in about a month as well.Chloe is getting bigger everyday and teething. Amy and I are meeting many new people and getting involved in new areas of the community. We have been attending a small church since we have arrived and really like the people and atmosphere there.

Update

Well, we finished the year with a pretty decent last jump session. Although my body wasn't feeling that great, we stayed on smaller poles from 10 steps and worked on technique. We are creating more lift with the bottom arm, but more importantly, by leading more with the chest. Looks like we will back up to 12 steps soon before going to some meets.

This weekend we will be traveling to go surfing to start the year. Incorporating this type of cross training tends to make my body feel better while getting in a difficult workout.

Happy New Year!
