Update

In the past couple of weeks, the issues we have been working on at take off have really paid off. We are starting to move some bigger poles and jumping higher bars. It's exciting to see the payoff that a few tweaks and some hard work can do. I'm looking forward to bettering my jump over the next couple of weeks and hopefully move back a stride before outdoors begins.

On the homefront, we have been staying pretty busy with Louis going to different activities. Chloe is cutting more teeth and becoming more active each day. We are all looking forward to spring and taking a family vacation.

This weekend I will be officiating the Sun Belt conference meet. The Arkansas state meet is going on tomorrow and the SEC meet is being held in Lexington. Good luck to all our vaulters.

Finally!

We had a great vault session tonight. I finally got things tied in and got that great feeling of vaulting high again. We were coming from 12 steps and jumping on some bigger poles. In only my second session from 12, I got a good rhythm put together and got my plant up and under on time. Poles were moving really well and my confidence is growing with every practice. This session was a battle, having a massage and adjustment the night before. My body was feeling really bad and all day I was debating whether to jump today or not. In a last minute decision, we put it together. I really look forward to the coming weeks before outdoors and will diligently work to improve what we have been working on for the last couple of months. I will keep you up to date as we progress.

This weekend is Valentine's Day and we are planning to head to the cabin. I have a couple of vault sessions with the PVU guys on Saturday. The weather looks decent and we are hoping to get outside and have some fun. The H.S. guys have been improving and need just a few adjustments to get to the next level. Hopefully, we can get things worked out. I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day.

Update

This past week we finally moved back to 12 steps. It was a good start in moving toward longer runs. Although it was the first day from that run, I had no run throughs. In the next couple of practices we plan to get on bigger poles and see how high we can go from 12. I feel more comfortable from the longer runs, which is a change from previous years. All in all we are going to work hard and start going to some meets.
